Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 R2 RTM HyperV Image and new Microsoft ERP site

Just under 3 weeks ago, we mentioned that the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 R2 RTM VPC is now available and that this was the last Technical Demonstration Toolkit to be Virtual PC based and that we are working on a 64-bit HyperV image.

Well, the team are part of the way there. On the Inside Dynamics GP blog, they have announced the release of a 32-bit image that runs on HyperV. This is basically the 32-bit VPC image converted to HyperV. You can download it from the link below:

The other news for today is the release of a new Microsoft Dynamics ERP website.

With the upcoming release of Dynamics AX 2012, they took the opportunity to re-imagine and reinvent the entire global site from top to bottom to better engage prospects and visitors who increasingly use social media and digital resources to find information on their preferred ERP solutions.

  For all our development and business analyst member we are using notebook as workstation. So far we only had performance issue in some case with VPC Image. As of now Microsoft is supplying image in HyperV format. Which solutions would you use to run HyperV image on notebook environment? Installing Windows 2008 R2 with HyperV role on notebook as the host OS or convert image to vmWare format and working with windows 7 as the host We have to keep the mobility for our development and business analyst member.   Charles, I actually would not suggest doing dev/test work in either a VPC or Hyper-V image, rather, I would suggest you install SQL and Dynamics GP natively on the notebook.  Back in my Consulting days, that's how we always did it and it worked great.  Plus it gives you better access/use of the debugger tools.
