Welcome to Deployment Field Notes

This blog is about technical topics associated with deploying Microsoft software in large enterprises.  Rather than focusing on architecture or design issues, this blog will be about actual issues we have uncovered in the field.  Each of us has many years in the deployment trenches so we have seen lots of "head scratchers" and hope we might save you some time and effort during YOUR deployments.  We wanted to give ourselves some latitude on the topics we will write about by specifically not being about one particular Microsoft product or technology.  Instead, we may write about Exchange 2010 in one post and perhaps Office 2010 in the next.  We definitely do not want to just re-hash content that is in the product documentation so we might go off the beaten path a bit now and then.  Commentary, discussion and feedback are more than welcomed.
