Daniel Fisher (lennybacon), Not necessarily. :) The overhead of HTTP transactions for the standard approach can be more significant than the slightly increased page size from using data URIs (in some situations). Please have a look at the Wikipedia page for detail on some of the most significant pros and cons. en.wikipedia.org/.../Data_Uri
