Microsoft - Platinum Sponsor of Cloud Circle Launch Event

Microsoft recently signed on as The Cloud Circle's first Platinum Sponsor! and so I, and a few of my colleagues from Microsoft, attended their launch event last night.

Apart from the need to socialise and of course, drink, there was a lot of Cloud discussions.

it was great to see on stage James Varga, Money Dashboard’s COO, talk about their experiences building their site with Silverlight and Azure. (see Moneydashboard interview video for more information)

 Rob Fraser, Head of Cloud Computing, RiskMetrics,  (far right) also presented and talked about the architecture of  their highly scalable Azure solution. (see Windows Azure Lessons Learned: RiskMetrics video  for more information)

Also in the photo is Richard Prodger (far left), who is well known in the Windows Azure word for his work on the RNLI (see Windows Azure Lessons Learned: Active Web Solutions for more information)

Dan Scarfe (second from right) was also on hand, giving out copies of the Windows Azure and Cloud Computing white paper that he and Matt Deacon have recently written “ Outlook: partly cloudy with sunny spells to follow ”
