SQL Server 2005 AND .Net 2.0 Hosting...

I've just been chatting (via email) with Tim from jelly.net.nz and he tells me that they'll have SQL Server 2005 hosting options available in a couple of weeks.  Hooray!

Jelly web has been my hosting provider for almost two years.  Now I'll be able to take advantage of the awesome caching between SQL Server and ASP.Net 2.0 - Its possible with SQL 2000 as well, but not as good...

    I know you need to install it manually per DB with SQL 2000.  Is there anything else that makes it "not as good"?  Is it missing any features, or does it perform worse?

    If you are meaning SQL Express, then yes there is an option to run a database in a user instance, however, you can also attach that database to a server instance making it always available.
    The limitations of SQL Server are imposed in the engine based on the SKU, not the database, so the engine allows you to create a database in SQL Express and then move it into SQL Enterprise to use it without limitations.

    Huh?  Sorry - my bad in being to brief.  I was asking about the differences in caching between SQL 2000 and SQL 2005.  You said it's not as good in SQL 2000.

    Ahh... OK.  Caching is not as good in 2000.  There are lots of other differences too. SQL2005 includes Reporting services (yes even express), for the sake of not repeating the already documented, have a look at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms170363.aspx for more details...  The engine in SQL Express is the same as workstation, etc with different limitations, so any improvements are common to all versions.
