Designers, meet TFS!

Picture it, Cape Town, 1999. Me, using Visual InterDev and Source Safe. Them, using DreamWeaver.

Classic ASP was our common denominator. And never an easy pass from one to the other.

Today, that changes fundamentally and forever: Graphic designers, digital artists and Expression users in general, meet your new best friend: Team Foundation Server! There’s even thinking around a designer Process Template for TFS, but before I get distracted, what am I on about?

Expression 3 has source control integration with TFS. Meaning you can check in without leaving Blend. Visual Studio is perhaps now entirely optional for designers, perhaps even no Team Explorer.

And I’m not alone thinking this rocks, this feature made the Expression Top 10 Most Wanted!

I’m told you’d need this TFS patch to get Expression 3 to work with TFS 2008 (needs SP1).

Enjoy!
