KB919154 - The MOM service does not start and event 9014 is logged when you deploy a Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 agent to a domain controller that is running Windows Server 2008

SYMPTOMS
When you deploy a Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2005 agent to a computer that is running Windows Server 2008, you experience the following symptoms:

The MOM service does not start.
•
The following event is logged in the Application log:
Event Source: Microsoft Operations Manager
Event ID: 9014
Event Cateory: None
Event Type: Error
User: N/A
Computer: ComputerName
Description: The Microsoft Operations Manager service (MOMService.exe) terminated due to an unhandled exception. It will attempt to restart itself.
You experience this problem if the Windows Server 2008-based computer where you install the MOM agent is configured as a domain controller.
Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
