You will love this drop of WinFX… it has the Windows Workflow Services stuff in there as well as Windows Presentation Foundation (“Avalon”) and Windows Communication Foundation (“Indigo”)…

Just a note – it does work only with the BETA2 build of .NET Framework 2.0 and VS 2005… So don’t try to make this work on top of anything more recent.

    Just to clarify; are you saying that the September CTP of WinFX does not run on the September CTP of .NET, but you need the 50215 build of .NET to run WinFX?

    So if I want to test out the latest and greatest VS, SQL Server, LINQ, etc, I can not do it together with the latest and greatest WinFX.

    This is an interesting conflict:

    On the one hand, you want CTP to be whatever comes out of the build lab at one time. Raw bits, no guarantees.

    On the other hand, I can't test WSE 3.0 beta (requires August CTP of .NET Fx 2.0 or smth...) and WinFX (requires beta 2? Come on, beta 2 is so... several months ago!) and Visual Studio 2005 (September CTP or RC0, what should it be?) on the same machine.

    I can certainly see the problems with different teams being on different CLR builds. But I had expected (more the fool me) that this late in the game - RC of VS and PDC - that the different teams would be on the same build.

    Anyway, just means I need to keep a couple of more VM guests around.
