Techstravaganza NYC 2012 Event Summary
Techstravaganza NYC 2012 (www.techstravaganza.com) was held in the Microsoft NYC offices at 1290 Avenue of the Americas on March 30th, 2012 on the 6th floor. This mini TechEd-like event had over 250 attendees who filled up six tracks (SharePoint, PowerShell, Exchange, Windows, IT Camp Hands on Lab and Ask The Experts) for a total of 30 different sessions available for attendees. The session listing for the event is shown below.
Speakers for the event included many well-known experts from across the US and included speakers from the Microsoft Product Group, Microsoft Premier Field Engineers, Microsoft MVP’s, authors and of course Community experts on Microsoft technologies. The event also had an IT Camp track which was a hands-on lab where attendees brought their own computers and went through building a the foundation of a Private Cloud environment.
Techstravaganza 2012 NYC, in its second year, was an event for the community and by the community. The event organizers were all User Group leaders of the NY Microsoft community including the New York Exchange User’s Group, the New York SharePoint User’s Group, the New York City PowerShell Users Group, and the NY Enterprise Windows Users Group.
The Microsoft Premier Field Engineering team supported the event wholeheartedly and they offered three speakers, one event organizer, plus all of the event volunteers came from the Microsoft Premier Field Engineering team. Hats off to that team for truly understanding the Microsoft community!
Feedback on the event was extremely positive regarding the speakers, content, food and vendor showcase. With greater attendance in 2012, you can expect a bigger and better Techstravaganza in 2013!
A listing of the PowerPoint slide decks from the event will be made available here shortly, so stay tuned.
