image image image

On March 7th, 2011, Tuskegee University hosted 200 high school students from Booker T. Washington High School and Notasulga High School. These students were on campus to hear about Imagine Cup, Kodu, Small Basic but mire importantly to hear directly from Tuskegee college students about the solutions they are creating to help solve some of the worlds most difficult problems.

The Tuskegee students are competing in Imagine Cup, Microsoft's premier technology contest for students. They are building Windows Phone applications and XBox games that are focused on driving awareness or providing services around the environment, child mortality and healthcare.

The Mayor of Tuskegee, the Honorable Omar Neal, kicked off the event inspiring the students to ‘be what’s next’. Next Tara Walker, Academic Developer Evangelist for Microsoft, did a great presentation on Imagine Cup, Kodu, Small Basic and other student programs. She then introduced some of the great Tuskegee students that are competing in the Imagine Cup.
