Will WCSF VS 2010 version support Unity 2.0 and ASP.NET MVC?

We received a number of questions on Codeplex asking us whether the Web Client Software Factory (WCSF) will support ASP.NET MVC and patterns & practices Unity. As I mentioned in a previous blog post, we decided to update the existing version of the Web Client Software Factory to support Visual Studio 2010 and create a new set of guidance that uses ASP.NET MVC and Unity. As mentioned in the p&p blog post last week, the conversion of the Web Client Software Factory to run on Visual Studio 2010 is going well and will be available within 30 days of Visual Studio 2010 launch. This conversion will not add new functionality.

The rationale for this decision was that most of the Composite Web Application Block (CWAB) capabilities for the Web Client Software Factory were to create a container for Object Builder and Unity provides much of these same capabilities out-of-the-box. Additionally, the platform changed enough that we thought it was the right time to take a fresh look at how to develop rich, responsive, modular Web applications.

Some of you asked if there is guidance available to migrate from the Web Client Software Factory to the new Web guidance. At this time, we do not have migration guidance available. The sustaining engineering team will look at creating guidance to address this issue.
