"How Do I Videos"

We have started creating a "How do I" video series for data services.  A couple videos are already posted here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/data/cc300162.aspx.  We have a number of ideas for future videos and a few more yet to publish, but if you have ideas for videos you would like to see please do let us know.

    Hi Mike;I think the videos are great to get an understanding for all the great work your team has done.If your team is in charge of the Silverlight Client module, I would vote for creating a video that takes you through all the essential steps to create the server side service and then create the client side and have them work with each other.Another great additions to your videos would be the "Hands-on Lab" http://silverlight.net/learn/labs.aspxThis is very valuable to get the ball rolling.We are very grateful of your work!Thanks!..Ben

    Thanks for the suggestion. We'll work on getting a silverlight video out.  I'll create another blog post when we have something.

    I would like to see client-side example consuming some popular public REST-based services such as GData (Google Calendar would be perfect), Digg, etc.Specifically, how can we use the System.Data.Services.Client namespace to access Flikr, Digg, GData, etc, in WinForms/WPF clients. Including the authorization steps, and, creating client-side objects WITHOUT the benefits of running a tool over the *.svc metadata. To be clear, I am talking about consuming someone else's data service, not one that I create myself.

    Bill: the challenge is that these services are in many cases completely different, so writing a client for all of them would effectively mean writing more or less a client per service and then put some wrapper on top. Some, like GData, are actually more uniform and based on AtomPub, but Flikr, Digg, etc. have their own APIs (and feeds, but those are more for consumption by feed readers than a generic programming interface).-pablo
