Large Enterprises Fail in Online Mission
This article from Sydney Morning Herald provides some great insight into why some large enterprise websites (eg. Online banking) fail in its mission.
expect to see a good body of ‘Online User Experience Design’ best practices/guidance to come out from the architect team at Microsoft soon…
ps. I recently ‘infiltrated’ a community training course focusing on building the UI layer… many of the developers including the trainers frequently apologised saying: “sorry I’m not a designer, but here is how you would build a gradient shade button… and now you can get your designers to polish it up”…
If we’re going to build powerful online applications for our large Enterprises, we not only need to recognise the important work that the designers do, but we also need to raise the User Experience design skills of developers…
