August Sydney Architect Council – Online Id Management & CardSpace Hands On Lab

We had a great architect council gathering last week, and were privileged to have Kim Cameron as the guest speaker. Kim covered off the ‘7 Laws of Identity’ and described to us how the industry as a whole is doing some profoundly innovative work for managing Identity online in the Web 2.0 world. Via Nigel’s blog, you can catch a recording of Kim’s presentation, and his slides.

As a follow up, I am also hosting Nigel Watling’s visit to Sydney, and he will be delivering a 1 day hands on lab on ‘CardSpace’:

Agenda

This hands-on lab covers Windows CardSpace and the Identity Metasystem. You will learn about the principles behind CardSpace as well as how to build applications on Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Vista that enable users to authenticate using information cards instead of usernames and passwords. You will use Windows Communication Foundation to build web services and ASP.NET 2.0 to build web sites. Familiarity with these technologies and the C# programming language will help you get the most out of the lab.

It’ll be held on Monday 28th August in Sydney, straight after TechEd. If you’re interested in attending, please drop me a note.
