Allow me to introduce myself

As this is my very first blog entry on MSDN, I thought I would start it out by introducing myself to my readers.  Okay, as of this moment, I have zero readers.  I am hoping that that will change and that this blog will be a useful resource to HD DVD application developers.

My name is Amy Dullard and I am a program manager in the HD DVD group at Microsoft.  I have been at Microsoft for all of 2.5 days as of this post.  Up until the end of the day of this past friday, I was writing advanced applications for HD DVD for some of the major movie studio titles, which I had been doing for the past year and a half.

The goal of my blog is to guide programmers and web developers who have never worked with HDi before on how they start writing applications for HD DVD.  And, to provide tutorials and samples on how to use some of the more interesting advanced features.  I am open to suggestions, so if there is a topic that I haven't covered that you would like to see, please let me know.

Now, on with the show...

Welcome to the world of MSDN blogs Amy.  I used the blogs as a major source for much of what I do, which usually deals with Windows Mobile devices and a few other things.  I believe that Microsoft encouraging blogging by its developers gives users and developers a way to get in touch with Microsoft.  This lessens the feeling that Microsoft is just some company, and actually allows us to attach names and people to it.You could have started your first post with"Allow myself...to introduce....myself"Happy blogging/working.-JasperM

Xavier - I just started this blog a week ago!  Hopefully, I will be able to cover in step-by-step detail some of the things you struggeled with for other developers.  And, eventually, after covering the basics, I hope to cover more advanced topics.  If you have any ideas of useful blog topics, I am all ears!   (that probably translates very oddly).-Amy
