One Identity - Many Faces :IIdentity

User security context in .Net is abstracted by implementation of IPrincipl and IIdentity interfaces.

Sometimes, it represents windows account by WindowsIdentity implementation, sometimes not, like with ADFS' SingleSignOnIdentity or forms based authentication FormsIdentity. One can even implement her own HerOwnIdentity - the important part it must implement simple interface - IIdentity

 

I am playing with WindowsIdentity now in different scenarios including impersonation, delegation, and protocol transition.

I am going to post my experiments around it.

    Identity story with .Net really rocks, but along with great extensibility it also brings a lots of confusion
