Get the latest copies of project files

Before you check out a file to work on it, get the latest version from source control to make sure that the file has the most recent changes from other members of your team.

For information about using Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2010 Team Explorer to get the latest versions of project files, see How to: Get the Source for Your Team Project Ee341410.xtlink_newWindow(en-us,Expression.40).png on MSDN.

To get the latest version of an entire solution from source control

  • In the Projects panel, right-click the solution that you want, and then click Get Latest Version.

Note

If you select a .xaml file with an associated code-behind file, both files are downloaded from the Team Foundation server. If a file is open in Microsoft Expression Blend or is checked out to you when you try to get the latest version, it will not be overwritten. Getting the latest version of a file is not logged in the Output pane of the Results panel in Expression Blend.
