Import Page (Master Data Manager)

Use the Import page to select records for import into the Master Data Services database.

This page contains two panes: Staging Batches and Unbatched Staging Records.

Staging Batches

Use the Staging Batches pane to view a list of all existing staging batches. You can view the staging batch errors and clear completed batches.

Buttons

Select a row in the grid to display these buttons.

Button Name	Description
View details for selected batch	Displays errors for the selected staging batch. A batch must be complete to view its errors. This button is available only when a row is selected in the grid.
Clear selected batch	Initiates a request to clear the contents of the staging batch. A batch must be complete to clear it. This button is available only when a row is selected in the grid.

Clear selected batch

Initiates a request to clear the contents of the staging batch. A batch must be complete to clear it.

Grid Columns

Column Name	Description
ID	Displays the unique identifier for the batch.
Name	Displays a descriptive name given to the batch (if one exists).
Model	Displays the model for which the batch was loaded.
Version	Displays the version for which the batch was loaded.
Status	Displays the processing status of the batch. Possible values include: Queued to run: The batch has not started processing Running: The batch is processing Completed: The batch has finished processing Queued to clear: The batch has finished processing and will be cleared
Started	Displays the date and time when processing started. This is based on the server's settings.
Completed	Displays the date and time when processing completed. This is based on the server's settings.
Records	Displays the total number of records processed.
Errors	Displays the number of staging records that produced errors when processed.

Unbatched Staging Records

Use the Unbatched Staging Records pane to view information about the records in the database staging tables.

Note

Staging batches can also be created from asynchronous, bulk-oriented service API operations. The Import page supports monitoring of these staging batches.

Button

Button Name	Description
Process unbatched data	Creates a new staging batch for unbatched records in the staging tables. All records for the model version you selected will be included in the batch.

Controls

Control Name	Description
Model	Select a model that has records you want to import. Note Only models for which you are a model administrator are displayed.
Version	Select a version into which you want to import the records. Note You cannot import data into versions that have a status of Committed.
Total member records	For the selected model, displays the total number of members that are in the members staging table (tblSTGMember). Only members that have your user name or a blank in the UserName column are included in this total.
Total attribute records	For the selected model, displays the total number of attributes that are in the attribute assignment staging table (tblSTGMemberAttribute). Only members that have your user name or a blank in the UserName column are included in this total.
Total relationship records	Displays the total number of hierarchy member relationships that are in the parent child relationship table. Only members that have your user name or a blank in the UserName column are included in this total.
