Students create the application and then step through creating dimensions, loading data, and designing input forms and reports. Students design a sales and human resources sub ledger and then move the data down to the final profit and loss budget. Business rules are created for calculation purposes.

The course consists of two introductory chapters, followed by several hands-on exercises that require a complete PerformancePoint Server 2007 installation with corresponding Fabrikam data files to import and manipulate. The file available for download here contains a pointer to a virtual machine you can download that has an image of Windows Server 2005 running Microsoft SQL Server, Internet Information Services, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, and PerformancePoint Server. Use this solution as you work through the exercises in the accompanying series of lessons. The virtual machine expires on December 31, 2009.
