The Microsoft Office 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1) updates provide increased stability, performance, and security for Office 2010 programs. This service pack also includes fixes that were previously released as separate updates (sometimes called patches).

The Office 2010 SP1 update is supported on the following Microsoft operating systems:
Windows XP with Service Pack 3 (SP3) (32-bit)
Windows Vista with SP1 (32-bit or 64-bit)
Windows Server 2003 R2 (32-bit or 64-bit) with MSXML 6.0 installed
Windows Server 2008 or later versions (32-bit or 64-bit)
Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit).

The "Snooze Time" feature in Microsoft Outlook now resets between appointments.
The new default behavior for the "Use Presenter View" option in Microsoft PowerPoint is to display the slide show on the secondary monitor.
The community content in the Microsoft Access Application Part Gallery is now integrated.
Browser support between Microsoft Project Server and Microsoft SharePoint Server is better aligned.
Backup / restore functionality for SharePoint Server is improved.
Word Web App now extends printing support to “Edit Mode.”
Microsoft Project Professional now synchronizes scheduled tasks with SharePoint task lists.
Internet Explorer 9 “Native” support is now available for Office Web Apps and SharePoint products.
Office Web Apps support for Chrome has been added.
You can now use Excel Web App to insert charts into Excel workbooks.
Support is now available for searching PPSX files in Search Server.
In Microsoft Visio, scaling issues and arrowhead rendering errors that occur with SVG export have been fixed.
Proofing Tools improve spelling suggestions in Canadian English, French, Swedish, and European Portuguese.
Attachment Preview is now available in Outlook Web App (for Exchange Online only).
You can now uninstall Office client service packs by using Add or Remove Programs or Programs and Features in Control Panel. This builds on work from Office 2007 SP2. Office 2010 SP1 updates list
The following table lists the Office 2010 SP1 update packages. The first column in the table provides the names of the update packages and contains links to the updates on the Microsoft Download Center. The second column in the table provides the names of the associated Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) articles and contains links to the articles that list all.msp files that are included in each update package. You can use this information to verify that you have all the .msp files that you need.
Important
The .msi packages for the Office 2010 language packs always install all possible Office 2010 components. If you have installed multiple language versions of an Office 2010 application, you must install each language-specific update package for each installed language version.

Updating Office 2010
The Office 2010 programs are installed through multiple Microsoft Installer (.msi) packages. For more information, see Setup architecture overview for Office 2010.
Important
If you are updating Office 2010 programs manually (for example, not using Microsoft Update), you must make sure that you apply every service pack update that is available for each installed Office 2010 program. Otherwise, detection tools, such as Microsoft Update, which you run later might indicate that a service pack is needed even though it is installed.
If update detection tools indicate that a service pack for the Office 2010 is needed even though it is installed, you must install any missing service pack updates for the installed Office 2010 programs. For example, if you are using the Updates folder to deploy updates in your initial Office 2010 program installations, and therefore extracting the .msp files from the updates to the Updates folder on the Office 2010 network installation point, you must make sure that all .msp files for the required service pack updates are included.
