The following sections provide additional information about the Office Customization Tool (OCT) and Office Migration Planning Manager (OMPM) hotfixes.
Office Customization Tool (OCT) hotfix
The OCT hotfix package (see Microsoft Knowledge Base article 958651: Description of the 2007 Office system hotfix package: October 28, 2008(https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=143302)) fixes the following issues:
After you install 2007 Office system Service Pack 1 on a computer that has Windows Installer 4.x installed, Office Customization Tool (OCT) updates are sequenced incorrectly, and the OCT updates are not applied.
If a 2007 Office system product is installed on a computer running Windows Vista, any successive installations cause the Msiexec.exe process to halt. This problem occurs when the following conditions are true:
The successive installation uses the system account.
The successive installation uses a customization file that was created by using the OCT.

Office Migration Planning Manager (OMPM) hotfix
The OMPM hotfix package (see Microsoft Knowledge Base article 956137: Description of the Office Migration Planning Manager (OMPM) hotfix package (Offscan.exe): October 28, 2008 (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=143353) fixes the issues described in the following scenario.
For this scenario, assume that you have a computer that has the Japanese version of Windows Server 2003 installed.
You select Access Compatibility on the Welcome page of Office Migration Planning Manager.
After the Access Reporting page appears, you click Analyze.
In this scenario, you might receive the following error message:
ODBC - Call fail The data is in an inconsistent state. Please re-create the data and try again.
After you scan a folder, the time stamp for the Date Accessed detail is changed by Office Migration Planning Manager (OMPM) unexpectedly.
When you try to use OMPM File Scanner to scan the content of a mapped network folder, you might receive a 0x80070001 error message.
