Please welcome...(drum roll)...Ammon Larson!

I am excited to start blogging and be able to communicate with all of our users and developers out in the “real world“. I'm also a dedicated Pocket PC power user and it's been exciting to be a part of the team that's creating the next version of the OS.

It seems like most people prefer smartphones -- and I definitely see the allure. They're compact and sleek, not to mention good looking. However, I prefer the Pocket PC phone. I like the bigger screen, and I am writing all the time -- udpating tasks, adding calendar items, sending e-mail, writing notes... The transcriber makes it really easy to write a lot of information in a short amount of time (as long as you watch your penmanship!). I'm not sure I'll ever switch over, especially as long as the manufacturers keep coming up with better and cooler hardware. For me, it's like a mini-laptop without the bulk. I can e-mail, manage my day, look at photos or play games. I can also get pretty much any information I need off the Internet without too much trouble.

I look forward to sharing my experiences on the Windows Mobile team, and hopefully I can post some blogs that you will find useful.
