My installation fails, now what? (part 1)

I want to introduce you to the world of logfiles and the possibility to trace when your installation of the Microsoft CRM Server or Client fails. I will make more items on this subject. Today i will explain where you can find the logfiles for the client and server installation.

Server:
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\MSCRM\Logs
- crm30svrsetup.log
- crm30exchangesetup.log

Client:
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\MSCRM\Logs
- crm30clientsetup.log
- crm30Desktopclientsetup.log
- crm30foroutlookinstaller.log
- crm30Laptopclientsetup.log

Tommorow i will explain how to enable tracing for Microsoft CRM to gather more information about errors or things that are going wrong.
