Southern California Regional User Group Meeting
All I can say was wow! What a great time. I did a 90 minute ASP.NET "Whidbey"
talk for at least 400 people down in Southern California -- it was a combination of
all the local user groups. The folks from San Diego bussed themselves up and
made t-shirts, which are absolutely fabulous.
My favorite feedback from the event:
"Brian Goldfarb should be the next ABC Bachelor"
Now we're talking.
Overall I think the talk went well, gave a solid look at what was coming and did some
fun demos. Based on the reaction from the crowd, I think we may have done a
lot of things right. Keep your eyes posted on https://www.asp.net/whidbey/ after
the PDC -- we plan to host all kinds of ASP.NET "Whidbey" content including all the
PDC presentations and demo files, 2 20 page overview whitepapers with screenshots,
sample chapters from Alex Homer and David Sussman's upcoming ASP.NET "Whidbey" book
and more!
If anyone from SoCal is reading this, wanted to say thanks for coming out. It
was a great event with great questions. Feel free to ask more here and I'll
get them answered as soon as possible.
I just want to point out that I've been home for about 8 days out of the last 35 and
it's beginning to wear on me. Only 2 more trips that are back to back:
Next Stop: PHPCon (Santa Clara)
Going to be conducting a BOF discussing community, PHP on windows, etc. Hopefully
get some great discussion going on with those folks and Wez Furlong is helping me
moderate. Should be a blast.
Then on to PDC -- and some days that aren't 18 hours long.
back to work...
