Learn about user experience settings in eDiscovery (preview)

User experience settings in eDiscovery (preview) allow you to select the eDiscovery portal experience options available in the Microsoft Purview portal. For a limited time, you can choose to enable the classic eDiscovery experience found in the Microsoft Purview compliance portal in the Microsoft Purview portal. These options determine the workflow, tools, and information you'll see when working with eDiscovery. These options apply only to the eDiscovery experience in the Microsoft Purview portal.

Change experience settings

  1. Sign in to the Microsoft Purview portal using credentials for an admin account in your Microsoft 365 organization.

  2. Select Settings in the upper-right corner of the page.

  3. Select eDiscovery > eDiscovery settings.

  4. Select User experience.

  5. Select one of the following options:

    • Show the Microsoft Purview portal experience only
    • Show both experiences

  6. Select Save to configure the eDiscovery experience in the Microsoft Purview portal
